Project: Co-designing the Hamilton Centre for Integrated Care of Mental Health and Addiction
The Hamilton Centre is Victoria’s statewide service for integrated care of mental illness and substance use or addiction. The establishment of the Hamilton Centre was supported by a rigorous co-design process with over 40 Victorian organisations that pinpointed system barriers, training needs, and cultural change initiatives, to develop a best practice model of integrated care. The Hamilton Centre is focused on overcoming fragmented service systems identified by the 2021 Royal Commission on Victoria's Mental Health System (RC). Launched in April 2023, the Centre has already facilitated over 1000 referrals and 236 training enrolments, demonstrating a transformative approach to integrated care.
